Tehri Garhwal stretches from the snow clad Himalayan peaks of Thalaiya Sagar, Jonli and the Gangotri all the way to the foothills near Rishikesh. The gushing Bhagirathi which runs through seems to divide the district into two, while the Bhilangna, Alaknanda, Ganga and Yamuna rivers border it on the east and west. Lying on the southern slopes of Himalayas, Tehri Garhwal offer stunning views,and leave one in awe.

In January 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Kaziranga National Park, the largest sanctuary for the majestic one-horned rhinoceros. Nestled in the heart of Assam. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a true paradise for wildlife lovers, offering vast grasslands, dense forests, and breathtaking wetlands teeming with life. It is not just a sanctuary; it is a living, breathing testament to nature’s raw beauty and the need to protect it for generations to come.

Dehradun

Sariska
Sariska Tiger Reserve is a national park where you will find a perfect intermingling of nature. It contains mountains, grasslands, dry deciduous forests and cliffs which span over 800 square kilometres. Situated in Alwar, the Tiger Reserve is nestled in the lap of Aravali hills. Currently home to numerous animals apart from tigers, the reserve showcases nature in its best form.

Ranthambore
The reserve is one of the biggest and most renowned tiger reserves in Rajasthan and comprises of National Park, Sawaimadhopur Sanctuary, Sawaiman Singh sanctuary, Keladevi sanctuary and part of National Gharial Sanctuary besides other forest areas. Tucked between the rugged Aravali and Vindhya hills it provides a wonderful ecosystem for both bird and mammal viewing. Our trip was in search of the ‘Elusive Tiger’….. !
